An effective mental health practitioner facilitates assimilation of culturally diverse clients into society.
I found this statement challenging to answer. After contemplating the statement I decided on this answer.
Being an effective mental health practitioner do support the clients culturally diversity and encourage them to participate in society while respecting their cultural identity, values, family, community, and worldview. Rather than encouraging assimilation, the practitioner works in a culturally responsive way that supports the client’s autonomy, belonging, safety, and wellbeing.
